Bio
Kia ora! I am an archaeologist and PhD researcher with a passion for exploring the connections between heritage and ways of knowing and being. I believe that archaeology plays a crucial role in weaving together the rich tapestry of human history, as well as our ongoing connections with the environment and other organisms. I am excited to share my journey with you.
Experience
I have extensive experience working on archaeological excavations across Te-Ika-a-Māui North Island, Aotearoa, conducting research, and analyzing archaeological collections. My research interests include palaeoecological studies, the intersection of archaeology and other knowledge systems, and the role of archaeology in shaping our understanding of the past. I am also an experienced teaching assistant at the University of Auckland and have tutored students for over 4 years and have given several guest lectures. I am a trained zooarchaeologist with a passion for connecting applications of archaeology with long-term biocultural heritage and conservation efforts.
Projects
Over the course of my career, I have worked on a variety of exciting projects, including excavations across Aotearoa. I have been fortunate to work and care for cultural heritage in the form of providing faunal identifications, data management, and public engagement. I incorporate geospatial technologies and other digital tools in my archaeological research. Check out some of my most recent projects.
